Calcium oxide nanoparticles (CaO-NPs) have gained attention because of their low cost, stability, and wide range of applications. Plant extract-mediated synthesis is a simple, eco-friendly, and cost-effective method that uses natural plant compounds to produce nanoparticles. This review focuses on the synthesis, characterization, properties, and recent applications of plant-mediated CaO-NPs. Their uses in antimicrobial activity, catalysis, environmental remediation, dye degradation, biodiesel production, and biomedical applications are discussed. The review also highlights the advantages and challenges of this green synthesis approach and its potential for sustainable nanotechnology.
