Abstract

An investigation is done to determine the effectiveness of a diesel engine's particle filter in reducing engine exhaust noise. This essay concisely explains the variables that lead to engine and exhaust noise output, as well as the concept of noise suppression. It also provides a solid theoretical framework for sound waves and engine noise. The experimental effort entails designing and developing a particulate trap particularly for the engine in order to control exhaust noise. The inquiry also looks on the reduction in noise level achieved by utilizing a muffler. A comparative experimental investigation is conducted to determine the efficacy of particle traps and mufflers in reducing noise levels.
